Consultation on Dog Control Public Space Protection Order 2020

Public Space Protection Orders [PSPOs] are intended to deal with a nuisance or problem in a particular geographical area that is detrimental to the local community’s quality of life, by imposing conditions on the use of that area that apply to everyone. They are designed to ensure the law-abiding majority can use and enjoy public spaces safely.

We currently have a Dog Control PSPO in place to tackle dog fouling and problematic dog behaviour across the borough. The Order came into effect on the 20th October 2017 and the law states that a PSPO expires after three years unless it is reviewed and extended by the Council.

Therefore we are keen to hear from the local community on whether the existing conditions of the PSPO should continue.

If, following consideration of the consultation exercise, the Council approve an extension, the Order will expire on 20th October 2023 unless further extended.

The survey is completely anonymous.

Thank you for your time in advance.
